How can I get an AliveColors license for free?

Please use the following instruction to get your AliveColors Free license. You can also request a serial number directly from your Customer Room by clicking Licenses --> Get license key. Alternatively, you can submit a request via the form on our website.


I requested a free AliveColors license, but haven't yet received the email with the serial number.

Please check your Spam folder, make sure you entered your email address correctly, and verify if the license has been added to your Customer Room. If you haven't received the email with the serial number and the license is not visible in your Cutomer Room, please contact us at support@akvis.com.


What is the difference between the Free and Business licenses?

Both the Free and Business licenses grant full access to all AliveColors features. One license key can activate the program on a single computer.
AliveColors Free is designed exclusively for individual, personal, non-commercial use and is not intended for organizations. It is available only to subscribers of the AliveColors newsletter (if you unsubscribe, the license will be deactivated). Updates are free.
AliveColors Business is a lifetime, perpetual license available with a one-time payment. It allows commercial use, making it ideal for businesses and organizations. The license never expires. Purchasing AliveColors Business includes one year of free updates starting from the purchase date. After this period, the updates require an additional fee. Learn more...

I have an AliveColors Business license, and I'm getting the error message: Your license does not allow you to use this version. What should I do?

This message appears if the one-year free update period for your license has expired. To use the latest version of the program, you need to purchase an additional year of updates, or you can install an earlier version compatible with your license. You can find the download links for the previous versions in your Customer Room, under the Downloads tab. If you've already updated your license but the error persists, please reactivate the program. If the problem continues, please contact us at support@akvis.com.


Can I test the program without registering? Is there a trial period?

Home users can get a free license for non-commercial use.
Business clients can request trial licenses to test all features - contact at sales@akvis.com.


I can't find my serial number to activate the program.

You can find your license information in your Customer Room.


I don't remember my Customer Room password.

Please use the password reset form on the website to change it.


My computer has no Internet access. How can I install and activate the program?

If your computer is not connected to the Internet, please follow these instructions for offline installation and activation.


My computer broke down / I replaced my computer. How can I transfer the license?

Please send a request to support@akvis.com. In your message, include the serial number of the license you wish to activate on the new computer.


Can I activate AliveColors on two computers?

Each license is valid for activation on a single computer only. If you want to activate AliveColors Free on two (or more) computers, simply request additional licenses with different email addresses. For AliveColors Business, you must purchase an extra license for each additional computer.


How can I update my email address in my Customer Room?

Email address changes must be requested via support@akvis.com.


Are there any tutorials on working with AliveColors?

Yes, we recommend exploring the detailed articles and step-by-step guides available on the website. Additionally, a comprehensive user manual is available for download as a PDF file.

Where can I find the system requirements?

How do I install the new version of the program?

To install the new version of AliveColors, download the installation file for the latest release and run it. You can find the installation files on the Download page.


I can't use the program because an error appears. What should I do?

Please send us an email at support@akvis.com with the following information: a detailed description of the issue, the specific actions that trigger the error (such as installation, activation, startup, or using a particular feature), screenshots of any error messages or notifications, and your system specifications including memory, processor, and other relevant details. This will help us diagnose and resolve the problem as quickly as possible.


Can I add my own plugins to AliveColors?

Yes, AliveColors supports external plugins (except for the Linux version). You can find a list of compatible plugins here.


How do I run the AI Image Generation module?

To use the AI‑based Image Generation module, you need to download and install the Model Loader. Please note that the minimum system requirements for working with generative AI are the following: 16 GB RAM, a discrete NVIDIA 1060+ graphics card.


When installing the Model Loader, I get the error Service 'AKVIS Generative AI' (AkvisGenAI) failed to start. What should I do?

The Image Generation module requires a discrete NVIDIA 1060+ graphics card (or newer). If your graphics card meets the requirements, the error may be caused by the NVIDIA App not being installed. Please install the NVIDIA App and try running the Model Loader installation again.


When I try to launch the AI Image Generation module, I get a message saying there is no connection to the server / connection refused.

To use the AI‑based Image Generation module, you need to download the Model Loader, install it, then run it, and download the models. Please use this instruction.


The AliveColors program runs for a while (5–7 minutes) and then crashes. Why does it happen?

This may happen, if AliveColors was installed not in a dedicated folder, but in a shared one. Files from other programs can interfere with AliveColors. Please make sure that the AliveColors program files are located in a separate folder (with no other files). For example, the default installation path is: C:\Program Files\AKVIS\AliveColors
